The American Indian Summer Transfer
Academy, at the University of California, Irvine, offers students
the opportunity to participate in a residential summer experience.
AISTA is a free four-day workshop for community college students,
high school graduates, and graduating seniors. The Academy will
be held at UCI and provides information on community colleges,
and the transfer process, with special attention to the Transfer
Admission Guarantee (TAG) program.
AISTA offers students an academic experience in a college setting.
Students will be staying at the UCI dormitories. They will be
receiving detailed information on the transfer process, university
life, and research opportunities. In addition, they will be
meeting and working with university faculty, staff, and students.
All students in the program will receive follow-up mentorship
by UCI staff and students throughout their remaining years of
community college, which will include guidance in choosing their
coursework, financial aid, and applying to a university.
No cost to you! The Summer Transfer Academy will cover most
expenses during the week. These include: housing, daily meals,
supplies, and informational packets. (Note: Participants
are responsible for transportation to and from UCI.)
